Morgan Wallen Arrested In Downtown Nashville

Country singer Morgan Wallen was recently arrested on felony charges. The arrest occurred following an incident at Eric Church’s newly opened Chief’s bar in downtown Nashville.

According to News Channel 5 out of Nashville, Wallen was charged with three felony counts early on Monday morning (April 8).

News Channel 5 cites Wallen’s arrest report. The report states that Metro Nashville police officers were standing in front of Chief’s Bar and watched as a chair fell from above and hit the ground. The chair fell approximately three feet from the officers.

The arrest report states that Chief’s staff told officers that Wallen threw the chair off the bar’s sixth floor.

Officers reviewed a video that showed Wallen “lunging and throwing an object over the roof.” According to witnesses cited in the report, Wallen laughed after throwing the object.

The news comes shortly after Wallen won two awards at the iHeartRadio Music Awards.

What Was Morgan Wallen Charged With?

The arrest report reveals Wallen’s charges, which News Channel 5 describes as follows:

Wallen was arrested for three counts of reckless endangerment for the two officers who were in the vicinity and for the danger to the public…Wallen was also charged with disorderly conduct.

The 30-year-old singer’s bond was set at $15,250. He has since posted bond.

Wallen’s attorney shared a brief statement on Monday (April 8) addressing the arrest. The statement can be found below.

“At 10:53p Sunday evening Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is cooperating fully with authorities. -Worrick Robinson, Worrick Robinson Law.”

Wallen is expected to appear in court on May 3rd. The singer planned to be in Nashville on May 2nd and 3rd for his concerts at Nissan Stadium.

Wallen has been in trouble with the law before. In May 2020, the singer was arrested on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct following an incident at Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk on Lower Broadway. Wallen publically acknowledged the incident and promised to work on personal growth.

Wallen has not released a statement about his most recent arrest as of press time. 

Newly Released Video Shows Morgan Wallen After Arrest

After news broke about his arrest, Metro Nashville police released his mugshot. They said:

Country artist Morgan Wallen, 30, was booked early today on 3 cts of felony reckless endangerment and 1 ct of misdemeanor disorderly conduct for throwing a chair from the rooftop of Chief’s Bar Sun night. The chair landed on Broadway, close to 2 MNPD officers. His bond: $15,250.”

Bystanders captured Wallen’s arrest on camera, and posted the videos on social media. He appeared to be fully cooperative with the officers, and could be seen smiling and interacting with them in a seemingly friendly manner.
